Once upon a time, there was a lonely piano in the middle of a train station. Because it was Christmas time and it was so lonely it decided to start playing blithely.
In Chicago’s Union Station this piano went viral as it had the capability to ‘observe’ its surroundings and react in realtime. With its spontaneous and convenient music it excited — or frightened — the pedestrians.
In cooperation with Amtrak and as part of the Christmas decor, an artist set up this magical piano. Its purpose was to get people’s attention, it certainly did — it even impressed Santa Claus as he passed by.
Maybe the most impressive incident happened when a little girl, who has probably always wanted to play, sat down in front of it.
The piano itself started to accompany her melody, leaving the parents speechless, as they never thought their daughter could play such a beautiful tune…
