Police in Victorville, California, are looking for a suspect who cut a security guard with a machete after shoplifting a number of items.

Police posted the security camera footage from a Food 4 Less store on La Paz Drive.

“Two unidentified males and an unidentified female loaded unpaid merchandise into a shopping cart. Without paying for the merchandise, they began to exit the store. A security guard requested their receipt and one of the males removed a machete from his shorts. The guard was struck in the hand when the male stepped toward him and swung the machete in his direction. He suffered a laceration to his hand as a result,” the police department wrote on Facebook.

The first suspect was described as a black male, approximately 25 years old, 5 feet 10 inches tall, with a black afro. The second suspect was described as a Hispanic female, approximately 5 feet 4 inches tall, with dark shoulder length hair. And the third suspect was described as a Hispanic or black male adult.

Officials said the incident took place on March 12, 2018, but they just released the footage on Sept. 19.

CBS Los Angeles reported that the March 12 incident at the Food 4 Less is linked to two machete attacks in the area. On Aug. 27, a woman who was walking in her driveway was attacked by a man who jumped out of a dark-colored sedan before trying to take her purse. He struck a woman with the machete, and she suffered serious injuries before being airlifted to a hospital.

On Sept. 1, a juvenile girl was attacked with a machete miles away, and she was hospitalized with minor injuries, the CBS report noted.
