Law enforcement officials arrested a man charged with criminal homicide on Dec. 25, concluding a dayslong search after a fatal stabbing outside a Tennessee bar.

Michael Mosley, 23, was captured in Cheatham County, the Nashville Metro Police announced. He was alone when he was taken into custody.

Mosley is accused in the Saturday attack at a Midtown Nashville bar that killed two men and wounded another.

Clayton Beathard, 22, the younger brother of San Francisco 49ers player C.J. Beathard and Paul Trapeni III, 21, were killed outside the Dogwood Bar.

The attack started as an argument over an “unwanted advancement” made by a man toward a woman at the bar, according to a statement by Nashville police. The woman was a friend of the victims, police said.

Beathard and Trapeni were stabbed in their sides and taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center, where they died, police said. Autopsies showed the men died of stab wounds, police spokesman Don Aaron said.

Mosley previously was convicted of robbery, felony aggravated assault and misdemeanor assault. In the aggravated assault case, he was found to have stabbed a man and cut a woman in 2015. In the misdemeanor assault case, he was found to have squirted urine out of a shampoo bottle onto a jail employee on Christmas Day that year.

The reward for information surrounding Mosley during the search had increased to $42,500 as of Wednesday.

Gov. Bill Lee had authorized a $10,000 reward contribution, while a group of Nashville businesses added $20,000 to that reward; sports journalist Clay Travis chipped in $10,000. The Tennessee Bureau of Information also offered $2,500 for information.

Mosley is being held in the Metro jail on two counts of criminal homicide and one count of attempted criminal homicide.

It’s not immediately known if Mosley has an attorney.

The Beathard Family

C.J. Beathard missed the 49ers game Saturday night because he was traveling to Nashville, a statement from the team said. The 49ers beat the Los Angeles Rams 34-31.

“I spent an hour with him last night and he was exactly like any one of us would have been, distraught, struggling to talk,” head coach Kyle Shanahan told the players in a postgame speech that the team shared on Twitter.

C.J. Beathard is the No. 3 quarterback on the San Francisco 49ers depth chart. He has played 13 games in his three-year NFL career.

According to the San Francisco 49ers media guide, the Beathard brothers performed in local talent shows growing up with C.J. on lead guitar. Clayton, who was known as Clay, also played guitar. Brother Tucker Beathard played drums. He is now a country music singer with one Top 10 hit to his name.

Their father, Casey Beathard, has written hit songs for Kenny Chesney and Trace Adkins. Their grandafther, Bobby Beathard, was a longtime NFL executive who helped build four Super Bowl champions and is in the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
