Police Officer who Delivered Tragic News to Teen Shows Up to his High School Graduation

High school graduation is supposed to be an exciting time for a teenager, but for one teen his big day was more of an emotional roller coaster.

Kazzie Portie was home alone roughly a week before his graduation when a police officer arrived at the front door. The police officer, Eric Ellison, came to deliver bad news. Portie’s parents were killed by a drunk driver.

After Ellison delivered the devastating news the soon-to-be high school graduate expressed uncertainty about what he was going to do. Graduation was just days away and suddenly his biggest supporters wouldn’t be able to attend.

That’s when Ellison stepped in and let Portie know he would attend and watch him receive his diploma. On the day of his graduation Ellison stood at the end of the stage waiting for the teen.

When it was Portie’s turn to walk across the stage, the entire arena gave him a standing ovation. The teen’s older brother captured the emotional moment in the video below.
