Police in York Region, Canada, released a video that shows the apparent abduction of a woman at 2:50 a.m. in Richmond Hill, located north of Toronto.

The woman can be seen ringing a doorbell at a home near High Tech Road and Silver Linden Drive on Aug. 23, according to police.

Then a man in a hoodie with short hair appears and demands that she leave with him. Police said that he may be armed with a handgun.

“The door was not answered, but video surveillance shows an unknown male suspect, armed with what appears to be a handgun, exiting a vehicle parked out front on the roadway. The suspect had an altercation with the victim on the front porch of the residence and dragged her back to his vehicle by her hair and drove away. The male can be heard in the video threatening to kill the victim,” said police in a statement.

York Regional Police Const. Andy Pattenden said the homeowner approached police and sent them the video.

“There is no connection that we’re aware of at this point in time between the homeowner and these people,” Pattenden told CTV News. “The focus of our investigation right now is figuring out who these people are and where this victim is right now because we have obvious concerns for her safety.”

Police are calling on anyone with information about the incident to contact them at 1-866-876-5423, ext.7241, or anonymously through Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-tips or www.1800222tips.com.

Other details about the incident are not clear.
