The Italian government has decided to withdraw from an agreement it signed with the Chinese Communist Party in its Belt and Road project. The backlash comes after Italy experienced several downsides of the partnership. NTD spoke with Italian Policy Analyst Olivier Piacentini, who views collaborations with the Chinese Communist Party as often leaning towards takeovers rather than fostering mutual benefits, raising concerns about the CCP’s predatory nature in international partnerships.
