Secretary of State Mike Pompeo calls censorship a step closer to tyranny. Drawing on recent actions from big tech to silence dissenting voices. He condemned the actions of Big Tech at a speech at Voice of America on Monday, saying censorship points to authoritarianism.
“Censorship, wokeness, political correctness. It all points in one direction. Authoritarianism cloaked as moral righteousness. Similar to what we’re seeing on Twitter and Facebook and Apple and on too many university campuses today. It’s not who we are. It’s not who we are as Americans,” said Pompeo.
