China’s new legislation on Hong Kong is sparking a response from the international community.
Secretary of State Mike Pompeo called China’s plan “disastrous”, saying it’s a “death knell for the high degree of autonomy Beijing promised for Hong Kong.”
He also said that the new law will impact the U.S.’s assessment of Hong Kong’s special status.
