President Donald Trump meets Italian President Mattarella

President Donald Trump and Italian President Sergio Mattarella met on May 24.

The pair met at Rome’s Quirinale Palace.

Early in the day the president met with Pope Francis. Later he will meet with Prime Minister Paolo Gentiloni. The president has the G-7 summit in Sicily scheduled for Friday, May 26.

Trump is on his first overseas trip, a nine-day journey through the Middle East and Europe.
