President Donald Trump met Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov at the White House on May 10.
Trump stressed several issue with Lavrov, the White House reports.
Trump said Russia had to “rein in” Syria’s government. Russia also had to get Iran to cooperate. Russia and Iran both support the regime of Syria’s Bashar al Assad.
Trump also said Russia needed to make peace with Ukraine.
Finally the president expressed hope that the relationships between the two powers would improve.
