On Jan. 6, National Security Council Senior Director for the Western Hemisphere Juan Gonzalez and Assistant Secretary of State for Western Hemisphere Affairs Brian Nichols previewed U.S. priorities heading into the tenth North American Leaders’ Summit.

From Jan. 9 to 10, heads of governments from Canada, Mexico, and the United States will attend the 2023 North American Leaders’ Summit in Mexico City. Key points on the agenda are a full recovery from the COVID pandemic in an era of increasing focus on regionalization, and shared challenges with diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI), climate, competitiveness, migration, health, and security.
