Prime Minister: COP26 Pact ‘Tinged With Disappointment’

The United Nations climate conference COP26 finally ended on Saturday, one day later than planned. After negotiating around the clock for a few days, a deal was struck and signed by almost 200 countries. But at the last moment, India and China pushed to have the final wording on coal use change from “phase out” to “phase down,” a disappointment for some countries and activists. Prime Minister Boris Johnson says “that’s the nature of diplomacy.”
