Princes William and Harry to attend private service for Princess Diana

Royal Princes William and Harry will rededicate the grave of their mother today. The service will take place at Lady Di’s resting place and ancestral home in central England, Althorp Estate.

The sons have never been the same since Princess Diana died in a car crash 20 years ago. Diana died on August 31, 1997, after the car carrying her and her lover crashed in Paris while escaping the media. She had divorced Prince Charles the previous year.

She was known for her compassion, humanitarianism, and open-mindedness. Her death sent shockwaves through the world and was deeply felt in the U.K.

Princes William and Harry have spoken openly about never overcoming the experience of losing their mother. Prince Harry spoke recently about the pain of having to walk behind her casket as a child during her public funeral.
