A Russian company developed a house-printing robot. It is able to create a single-story turn-key house in less than 24 hours.
One of the first buildings they printed is 38 sqm, a hall, living room, kitchen and bathroom. Of course it offers heating and electricity as well. It was built in Stupino, which is to the south of Moskau where temperatures reach a low of – 35° Celsius. The printer works well in these conditions, unfortunately the concrete did not …
The preparation included, in additional to the foundation, setting up a tent covering the construction area and providing the right conditions. In the future this could be avoided by using a geopolymer concrete as ink.
Construction costs were $10,134 dollars (267 dollars per sqm) which could be lowered to about 220 dollars per square meter when building a standard rectangular house of the same size. This is 70 percent less than the average house built with conventional materials.
