Professor: Impact of Forever Chemicals on the Environment

Chemical manufacturer 3M recently agreed to pay $10.3 billion to settle lawsuits over the contamination of U.S. drinking water with “forever chemicals.” These compounds, used in firefighting foam and many consumer products, do not degrade naturally. How do these chemicals harm the environment? Can they be removed? NTD spoke with professor Madjid Mohseni of the University of British Columbia for a closer look at the problem and a solution.
