On Christmas Eve, tragedy struck in Central China.
Police there announced the cause of death for a local middle schooler falling from a school building.
But soon after, accusations started flying that the police and the school were covering up the truth.
A warning, the following content may be disturbing for some viewers.
A post-death investigation showed that the student, Yang, had suffered a brutal beating before he died.
Yang’s body showed cuts and bruises, a broken ankle, and a number of wounds on his arm. Some of them appear to have been inflicted by a tool like a screwdriver.
The fourteen-year-old’s family was not informed until nine hours after his death.
“Why didn’t they let us see his body for such a long time? And there hasn’t still been a coroner’s report,” Yang’s aunt said.
The aunt suspects Yang might have died in the hospital, not at school.
“We saw our child in the mortuary, and his body was still warm and soft. Later, we heard that the security personnel told his grandpa that the child was brought to the mortuary by a private car instead of an ambulance,” Yang’s aunt said.
