This is how you put out a fire on a boat – using the wake of your boat

Even on the water you’re not safe from fires. Motorboat engines can explode and go up in flames in an instant.

Once a boat is on fire, an everyday fire extinguisher is way too small. You might need a lot of water, as in a LOT of water. If you have a spare boat around, luckily there is an easy way to do it – but we don’t recommend this for beginners.

Simply drive as fast as possible towards the burning ship and turn around just before you hit it. Your wake should do the rest.

With a powerful motor boat, you may also slowly approach the burning boat in reverse and then push the throttle hard.  Shooting back an enormous wave while accelerating should do the job just as well.
