Russian President Vladimir Putin has responded to the killing of Russia’s ambassador to Turkey. Putin appeared on Russian TV saying it was “a provocation designed to spoil normalization of Russia-Turkey relations”

The Russian ambassador to Turkey was shot in the back as he gave a speech at an art gallery in Ankara, Turkey. The assassin shouted “Don’t forget Aleppo” and “God is great,” before being shot by authorities. The Russian ambassador was taken to hospital but died of his wounds.
