Prince Philip was back in the public eye, enjoying the days before his retirement. He announced recently he would retire from public duties by the fall.
He and Queen Elizabeth hosted one of their annual garden parties. This one took place at Buckingham Palace. About 8,000 people are invited to each garden party. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were also in attendance. It’s the U.K.’s premiere social event. Several are held throughout the year.
In addition to Buckingham Palace, parties are also held at the Palace of Holyroodhouse in Edinburgh. This year, an additional three will take place at the Queen’s London residence, one which will feature Prince Harry as host for the first time.
