The Queen Mary 2 is fantastically powerful, one of the biggest, fastest ships on the ocean.

Can this empress of the seas beat a sailboat?

The Queen Mary is taking part in The Bridge, and trans-Atlantic race.

The race celebrates the friendship between France and the United States.

It is 100 years since the United States crossed the ocean to fight with the allies in WWI.

Four state-of-the-art 81-foot-long racing trimarans are competing.

They are crewed by experienced long-distance racers.

The Queen Mary 2 is 1,132 feet long. She can cruise at 35 mph.

The Queen Mary 2 has the edge.

She is not bothered by wind or weather which might slow the sailboats.

In any case, the winners are France and the United States, still allies 100 years on.
