Eye-dazzling jewelry, much more than one can take in at one time—jewelry that you need sunglasses to look at will be up for auction on April 25 and 26.

Both Sotheby’s and Christie’s will hold auctions as part of the New York Magnificent Jewels event.

Tom Burstein, head of Jewelry for the Americas, Christie’s, spoke about the latest trends in jewelry, “With the jewelry we are seeing, a lot of people buying to wear. We’re seeing a lot of trends coming back from the ’60s and ’70s, bold colors, yellow gold set with many colored stones and really nice diamond pieces and those are being worn for sure. It’s great because they have a utility they have a function and they can be worn and loved, but they also have intrinsic value.”
