Bei Bei the giant panda enjoyed a carefree day of playing in the snow when heavy snowstorms hit Washington on Nov. 15.

Bei Bei lives in the Smithsonian’s National Zoo. He was seen rolling in the snow and climbing trees in his enclosure as it snowed across the East Coast.

Bei Bei turned 3 years old last August. He was given an ice cake made of diluted fruit juices and leaf-eater biscuits, along with fruit, carrots, and sweet potatoes, according to the National Zoo. When he turns 4 years old in August, he will be sent back to China to participate in a panda breeding program, NBC Washington reported.

The zoo offers live camera feeds of pandas Bei Bei, Tian Tian, and Mei Xiang on its website.

Pandas live 20 years, according to National Geographic. They grow four to five feet and grow to weigh 300 pounds. They are listed in the vulnerable category, but with an upward trend in population.
