According to NHS data, the waiting list for hospital treatment is now 4.7 million—the highest since records began in 2007. The Royal College of Surgeons of England says it's been 5 years since the NHS last met the 18-week waiting times target.
The Prime Minister says the government will do "whatever it takes" to help the NHS beat the backlog.
