Record Voter Registration in Pennsylvania

Thanks to a split Supreme Court ruling, Pennsylvania will count its mail-in ballots up until Nov. 6—three days after the election, even if they don’t have a postmark.

The Supreme Court Justices were divided 4 to 4 over a bid to overturn a ruling by the lower court to allow the extension.

Because of the equal division caused by the vacant 9th seat that belonged to the late Justice Ginsberg, the lower court’s ruling in favor of state Democrats stays in place.
