Rep. Don Bacon (R-Neb.) told reporters on Monday evening that he will not vote for Rep. Jim Jordon (R-Ohio) for the House Speaker post in Tuesday’s vote on the floor. Mr. Bacon said he was acting in defiance of what he called “a minority of the majority” whom, he claimed, had acted to oust Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) before blocking Rep. Steve Scalise (R-La.) from the nomination. He told reporters: “The end game is a small group of people need to see that some of us will not just be walked over on this—and we’ve been walked on since January.”
