At a House Judiciary Committee hearing on Sept. 20, Rep. Kevin Kiley (R-Calif.) grilled Attorney General Merrick Garland over a school board memo that the latter issued in October 2021. Mr. Kiley accused Mr. Garland of using the memo to “mobilize federal law enforcement powers against American parents.” He cited FBI director Christopher A. Wray’s previous testimony about the memo and asked Mr. Garland, “Are you aware that director Wray a couple months ago, in sworn testimony, implicated you and a sweeping abuse of power?”
