Anthony Scaramucci, the former White House communications director, was reportedly escorted out of the White House on Monday, a source told CBS News, while CNN host Brian Stelter‏, tweeted that Scaramucci was “essentially escorted off the White House property earlier this afternoon.”

The White House has not yet commented on if he was escorted out.

“Anthony Scaramucci will be leaving his role as White House Communications Director. Mr. Scaramucci felt it was best to give Chief of Staff John Kelly a clean slate and the ability to build his own team. We wish him all the best,” White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders said in a statement.

Scaramucci was removed the same day that retired Marine Corps Gen. John Kelly was sworn in as the new White House chief of staff, replacing Reince Priebus.

Sanders said in a live-streamed press conference said Kelly has “the full authority to operate within the White House, and all staff will report to him.” When asked if Jared Kushner, Ivanka Trump, and Steve Bannon would report to him, she replied, “That includes everybody at the White House.”

When pressed if Scaramucci is still working inside the White House, Sanders said, “He does not have a role at this time.”
