After 15 minutes of pure fear, a mother was reunited with her child who had been inadvertently kidnapped by a carjacker.
The mother, from Riverside, California, was standing by the car in her driveway when a carjacker jumped in and drove away—police think unaware there was a 5-year-old child in the back seat.
Police found the car, and the child, about four miles from the family’s home.
The carjacker had apparently pulled over, jumped out of the car, and ran off. People in the neighborhood saw the 5-year-old climb out of the car and called the police.
Police are still searching for the suspect.
