Comedian Roseanne Barr is set to appear at the Trumpettes’ Gala in honor of President Donald Trump at his Mar-A-Lago estate in Palm Beach, Florida, in February.

The gala is an annual event started by Toni Holt Kramer to honor the 45th U.S. president. The event’s third year running will be held on Saturday, Feb. 1, just one day before the Super Bowl will take place, and the event had been sold out even before Barr was contracted.

“Roseanne is a really loyal Trump supporter,” Holt Kramer told the Palm Beach Post. “If there was ever anybody who really put their mouth on the line and said how much she loves the president, she is one of them. And you can’t get a hotter name in town.”

Barr, who starred for years in her own eponymous sitcom, was more or less ousted from its reboot in May 2018 after she was accused of posting a series of racial slurs to Twitter.

In one of those, she compared the former senior adviser to President Barack Obama, Valerie Jarrett, to a cross between the Muslim Brotherhood and the movie Planet of the Apes.

Holt Kramer defended Barr. “You have to know Hollywood is a very left, Democratic community,” she said. “They want everybody to be on the left. And if you aren’t, you’re not going to work very often,” the Post reported.

A day after her show was canceled by ABC, Barr issued an apology on Twitter.

“Guys, I did something unforgivable, so do not defend me. It was 2 in the morning, and I was Ambien tweeting-it was memorial day too-i went 2 far,” she wrote.

She cited Ambien again in a later tweet when she said, “Not giving excuses for what I did (tweeted), but I’ve done weird stuff while on Ambien—cracked eggs on the wall at 2 am, etc.”

The actress and comedian posted a tweet that has since been deleted, comparing ex-Obama advisor Valerie Jarett to “Planet of the Apes.” Barr had tweeted: “Muslim brotherhood & planet of the apes had a baby=vj.”

Roseanne also wrote an apology hours after that, saying, “I am truly sorry for making a bad joke about her politics and her looks. I should have known better. Forgive me-my joke was in bad taste.”

Hours later, Disney, which owns ABC, canned her No. 1-rated show.

“Don’t feel sorry for me, guys!!,” Barr wrote in a tweet later. “I just want to apologize to the hundreds of people, and wonderful writers (all liberal) and talented actors who lost their jobs on my show due to my stupid tweet.”

According to Reuters, Hollywood talent agency, ICM said in a statement that it wouldn’t represent Barr any longer, Reuters reported. Some networks said that they would remove returns of her original “Roseanne” show, which ran from 1988 to 1997.

The reboot of “Roseanne” was ABC’s biggest hit of the 2017-2018 season, drawing an average 18.7 million viewers, second only to CBS sitcom “The Big Bang Theory,” according to Nielsen data through May 20, according to Reuters.

The show was later restarted without her character and renamed “The Conners.”
