Russian President Vladimir Putin says he will allow volunteers to fight against Ukrainian forces and approved handing over captured Western missile systems to Russian-backed rebel fighters. It comes as satellite pictures show armoured units manoeuvring in and through towns close to an airport on Kyiv’s northwest outskirts. British officials say Moscow could be planning an assault on the city within days.
