Schools Replace Confucius Institutes With New Programs

Over the past few years, more than 100 Confucius Institutes in the U.S. have been shut down due to U.S. government concerns about propaganda and espionage. But did they really close the facilities?

A new report by the National Association of Scholars found that Confucius Institutes have continued under new names. Dozens of American institutions have maintained their relationships with a Chinese Communist Party affiliate by opening up similar programs.
