The puppy seal is most likely a juvenile and was curious and friendly with the two, and eventually took a break from its swim to climb aboard. The two kayakers were taken by pleasant surprise and were able to capture the encounter on video.
This rare and fun wildlife encounter serves as a reminder of how great and spontaneous animals can be.
