Sec. Blinken on China’s ‘Problematic Behavior’ While Visiting Tonga for US Embassy Opening

Secretary of State Anthony Blinken spoke about China’s “problematic behavior” while visiting the Pacific Island nation of Tonga this week.

Asked about China’s investment in Tonga, Mr. Blinken said the United States doesn’t object to “productive” investments from foreign nations, including Beijing, but noted concerns come in where there’s a lack of transparency or if “political strings” are attached.
