Secretary Tillerson welcomes Malaysian foreign minister

U.S. Secretary of State Rex Tillerson exchanged handshakes with Malaysia’s Foreign Minister Anifah Aman at the State Department on Tuesday (March 21). They made no remarks to reporters.

U.S. President Trump’s top diplomat is hosting on Wednesday (March 22) the Ministers of the Global Coalition on the Defeat of ISIS (Islamic State) global summit for three days in Washington.

Malaysia is gunning for a revamp of its aging naval fleet, as countries in the region prepare to face threats from the influx of ISIS terrorists fleeing Mosul, and from rising tensions in the South China Sea.
