U.S. Senator Marsha Blackburn (R-Tenn.), joined by other legislators, holds a press conference at noon ET on Feb. 15 to talk about her newly introduced the “the Stop Taxpayer Funding of Traffickers Act” which would defund traffickers who continue to defraud the American taxpayer while they await prosecution and conviction.

Senators Cindy Hyde-Smith (R-Miss.) and Katie Britt (R-Ala.) cosponsored this legislation. Representative Kat Cammack (R-Fla.) led the legislation into the U.S. House of Representatives.

Blackburn introduced the act following her recent visit to the Del Rio Sector of the U.S.–Mexico border.
