Sen. Hagerty Holds Press Conference on Bill to Address Crime in Washington

Live Chat

Sen. Bill Hagerty (R-Tenn.), joined by other Republican Senators, holds a press conference at 4:30 p.m. ET on Feb. 14 on H.J. Res. 26, a bill to address rampant crime in Washington, D.C.

The D.C. Council recently passed a soft-on-crime law to lessen penalties for criminals amid rising homicides, sexual abuse, motor vehicle thefts, and property crimes in Washington. H.J. Res. 26 would block that bill from going into effect.

The House passed H.J. Res. 26 with a bipartisan vote last week, and Republican Senators are calling on Senate Majority Leader Senator Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) to bring it up for a vote on the Senate floor.

NTD will livestream the event.
