At Wednesday’s Senate Appropriations Committee hearing on the DHS’s supplemental funding request to Congress, Sen. John Hoeven (R-N.D.) pressed Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas over whether the millions of illegal immigrants entering the United States create the risk of a terrorist attack in the country. Mr. Mayorkas did not answer many of his questions directly.
“We need some kind of metrics and tracking to show that we are, in fact, reducing the number of people coming here and staying here illegally as part of this supplemental package,” Mr. Hoeven insisted.
