The Senate confirmed another one of President Biden’s cabinet members. Antony Blinken will be the new Secretary of State. He’ll become the most senior cabinet member and fourth in the line of presidential succession. Previously, he served under the Obama administration.

On the issue of dealing with communist China, Blinken said he believes President Trump was right to take a tougher stance. But he also says there is still some room for cooperation.

Some Republican senators voted against Blinken’s confirmation because of his Middle East policy. Senator Rand Paul says the problem he has with Blinken is that Blinken advocates for military intervention in the Middle East.
