The Department of Homeland Security is preparing to end Title 42. And Democrat senators say they are concerned for their communities.

A group of Democrat senators wrote to the DHS, expressing concern that the Biden administration isn’t prepared. They say a surge of illegal immigrants is likely after Title 42 ends. And illegal border crossers are being released into the street, even while Title 42 is in place.

The letter reads: “Record annual encounters have led to untenable situations. In Arizona, shelters have been forced well beyond capacity. This month, El Paso has seen over 700 migrants released directly onto city streets due to overcrowding. This is not safe, and creates a dangerous situation for migrants and communities.”
