A convicted serial killer said he wants his final meal to be what every other inmate in prison is having for dinner that evening.
Carlton Gary, known as the Columbus “Stocking Strangler” is scheduled for execution by lethal injection at 7 p.m. on Thursday, March 15.
He will be executed at the Georgia Diagnostic and Classification Prison in Jackson, Georgia, WSB-TV reported.

Since Gary declined a request for a last meal, he will be receiving the institutional tray consisting of a grilled hamburger, hot dog, white beans, coleslaw, and grape beverage, according to WSB-TV.
Gary, now 67-years-old, was sentenced for murdering three elderly women—Florence Scheible, 89; Martha Thurmond, 70; and Kathleen Woodruff, 74. He killed the women by strangling them with their own stockings in 1977 and 1978.
According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Gary was also accused of killing four other women. Those women were believed to be aged between 59 and 74 and all lived alone in the same Wynnton neighborhood.

Though he was not charged for the deaths of the additional four women, they all died after being strangled with their own stockings over a period of seven months.
Prosecutors at the time used the accused murders, as well as similar murders in New York, to show a pattern of murder.
However, Gary’s lawyers still have pending appeals asking to court to stop the execution, due to the limited evidence when he was tried in 1986.
The lawyers claim that Gary is not the “Stocking Strangler” and that someone else is responsible for the multiple murders, the newspaper reported.
If the execution is carried out as scheduled, he will be the first inmate executed in Georgia this year, according to WSB-TV.
On Wednesday, March 14, both Gary’s lawyers and family will go to the State Board of Pardons and Paroles. They will make a final case for his mercy while the Columbus-Muscogee County authorities will make a case for carrying out the execution.
