Shanghai Lockdown Stirs Memories of Planned Economy

Since Shanghai went under lockdown, the flow of food and supplies has fallen under authorities’ control. Because of that shift, residents have all of a sudden found themselves with limited options for food brands and other goods. Many of them say the situation feels like a return to the old days, an era starting in 1950s China.
