A 17-year-old Australian girl was killed by a shark. Laeticia Brouwer was surfing with her father when she was attacked. She was vacationing with her family at a west Australia beach
and surfing the popular Kelp Beds break.

A surfer was attacked there in 2104 and two were killed by sharks in 2016.

This is the first fatal attack in Australia this year. The species of shark has not yet been identified.
