Audience Members Praise Shen Yun: ‘Uplifting, Beautiful’

Shen Yun Performing Arts concluded four performances at the Belk Theater at Blumenthal Performing Arts Center in Charlotte, North Carolina, over the weekend. Audience members praised the performance as being uplifting and spectacular.

Fred Waite, the CEO of Technology On Demand, has been coming to see Shen Yun with his family for years.

“We started coming about six years ago and fell in love with it. And so every year we get the email of early buy and we get front row seats every year.”

“I loved it, I thought it was beautiful. It was a beautiful way to show the art of dance and music and history,” said Kristin Medina, director at DJL Clinical Research.

Cody Masluk, VP at Alliance Laundry Systems, praised Shen Yun’s performance and thought it was beautiful.

“There’s nothing within this performance that doesn’t uplift you. You look at it, you find everything is beautiful, it’s synchronized. And it’s all meant to bring a story together, to make you feel good. And it absolutely just comes together like a symphony.”

“I just love learning more about the history of the Chinese culture. As well as seeing all of the beautiful performers, the dancers, the singers. The orchestra was incredible, I love all the costumes. The dresses were just absolutely beautiful on stage. It was just amazing to be able to experience this,” said Tori Newman, operations director of Propel Church.

Traditional Chinese culture finds its roots in the divine. Theatergoers were delighted to see traditional values before communism.

“Oh my gosh, it’s magical. You gotta appreciate the art of dance. But then you take the history of it and you combine it with the challenges of China. Which I’ve been there many times, and I can appreciate what they say about the challenges. And so it’s neat to see this freedom on the stage, it’s awesome,” Mr. Waite said.

“To have the freedom here to be able to express, and keep the traditions of thousands of years of dance alive and the stories is pretty inspiring,” he added.

“For me, the spiritual aspect of this performance was an absolute delight,” said Anastasia De Vore, academy director at BEMER Group USA.

“It kind of brings tears to my eyes. You know, there is nothing more powerful than somebody’s personal story. And that’s probably why the performance is so good because they’ve got that passion,” she added.

Shen Yun brings an all-new performance every year, including new choreography, music, and digital animated backdrops.

“I really appreciate what they do, it’s amazing. And I hope they continue to do it for a very long time,” said Michael Presnell, CEO of Metro Billboards, Inc.

“Thank you so much for taking a step out of being able to express yourself through art and dance and music. And really bringing life to the world around you,” said Mr. Newman.

“I’d say congratulations on using art to do something that really means something and it’s beautiful. There’s a lot of folks who attempt to do art for a living and never make it anywhere close to what they’re doing. They’re the pinnacle, they’re really high placed in the art world doing what they’re doing,” said Joe Wynne, the owner of Plaito.

“It was wonderful. It was a great combination of perfect performance, as well as something that leaves me absolutely happy when I walk out the door,” said Mr. Masluk.
