Dortmund Audience Members Impressed by Shen Yun

February 28, 2019

Shen Yun Performing Arts performed its second show at the Theatre Dortmund in Germany with a fully packed house. Audience members were taken away after watching Shen Yun on Feb. 19.

“Very beautiful,” said Alexandra Gramse, a justices’ clerk. “Right from the beginning, I was so inspired that I had tears in my eyes, really, because it brought me so much joy.”

“Amazing,” said Hilmar Vielhaber, a company owner. “In particular, I have to say that, when the ladies and the men jump so high, and when the men do the split … I found that fascinating.”

Shen Yun stories portray themes like spiritual devotion, the benevolence of gods, the retribution of good and evil, and the search for the meaning of life, according to the company’s website. Audience members enjoyed the performance’s colorful journey through China’s multi-millennial history.

“I have to say that the perfect timing and the beautiful colors, especially with the long sleeves that piece where the ladies dance with the long pink sleeves,” said Gramse. “I thought it was truly beautiful. And I have to say that what I thought was fantastic was how they created this setting on stage, where the dancers could jump down and then ascend into the sky that was really impressive. Beautiful.”

“What we saw this evening was absolutely wonderful, because it is something completely new that the audience can learn from,” said Mrs. Vielhaber. “About China, about this country they have likely never visited, and probably never will. But this is how we can see the world from a different point of view. And that is something wonderful.”

“My impression was that this is an ancient culture, thousands of years old, and that should make it of interest to all of us,” said Manfred Gruse, a tax office owner.
