Dazzling colors, outstanding dance techniques, and a live orchestra that blends east and west, London audiences have described Shen Yun as a spectacle.
“Very good. The show is all I expected it to be and more. It’s spectacular,” said Owner Richard Bednall. “It’s very interesting in terms of the history and the historical aspect which I hadn’t realized, and obviously the quality of professionalism is amazing, very, very good.”
“The sleeves was just something that was absolutely divine,” said Simon Earthrowl, a former manager. “I mean, how they managed to catch the sleeves, synchronized, choreographed and then just throw them out and keep them all balanced like that was just amazing.”
They attended the performance at the Eventim Apollo in London on April 24, and applauded the Shen Yun dancers, who danced with their souls in showing the traditional Chinese culture.
“I think that’s a good idea. There is so much culture that I’m sure been lost. Every culture has lost some,” said Earthrowl. “But it seems as though China has lost an awful lot more. And that’s a shame because it was the seat of culture and the seat of humanity for many centuries, well before Europeans.”
“I think some of those cultural benefits have been significantly lost. To get those back, and to balance against the ever-changing fast-paced world is extraordinarily difficult,” said Simon Jenner, a chief operating officer. “And I wish everybody all the greatest success and music such as this and dance shows such as this and choreography as presented here can help.”
“I think in relation to ensuring that Shen Yun keeping the traditions alive but reflecting also on modern cultural approach to them as well. I think it’s very important,” he added. “I think to have that embedded in cultural society is extraordinarily difficult at the moment. ”
