“I really appreciated the overall sensitivity of all the artists. It was very delicate; there was a lot of precision. Then, I really loved the pianist, precisely for her sensitivity and for her ear and for the calm that she spread, and at the same time, all her passion. And then the colors, the music, the atmosphere was very, very magical, and I wanted to touch the fabrics of those costumes, which were magnificent. As a whole, the atmosphere was really very special,” Mr. Lambiel said.
“There was quite a bit of education in each scene, quite a bit of morality and values. And we saw a lot of children attending, so these are important values to share. I think that seeing beautiful things is something that inspires us, that allows us to project ourselves into the future and that allows us to dream of, to aspire to that excellence. History shows us many things. There are good sides, bad sides, but in the end, it’s the beauty that prevails. And seeing it presented on stage in such a way, it’s something that is very inspiring,” Mr. Lambiel said.
Mr. Lambiel added, “I think that today, what we need the most is precisely the love of sharing, the true values of life, simple things, family, friendship, and sharing. I think we don’t emphasize these values enough. We always try to be the best, to want more, always want more and more. But in fact, it’s precisely these values that make life beautiful and that give us beautiful things around us. So, to enjoy that and to see a show like this, it’s clearly a great source of inspiration.”
Mr. Lambiel said, “I think there’s a whole story behind each scene and then, of course, the work of the artists who learned the choreography, worked on it, and then staged it. And then all the people behind the scenes who we don’t see on stage, but who do an enormous amount of work. Whether it’s lighting, set design, choreography, all the technical aspects, all the logistics. I imagine it’s a huge undertaking to put on a show like this. To set everything up and then show that it’s so easy, but in fact, there’s an enormous amount of work behind it. It’s quite exceptional. And then there is this sense of calm that reigns throughout the entire show, with a great deal of precision and professionalism.”
China was once called “The Land of the Divine.” Buddhist, Taoist, and other disciplines of faith were at the heart of society. Shen Yun’s performance showcases the connection between people’s daily lives and the Divine.
“For me, the question of belief is something very personal, and I think that the fact that we’re here is clearly the force of nature. And that force is within us. And in this show, we clearly have a great presence of the Divine. This Divinity is represented in a certain form in the show, but in fact we have it within us, this grace of God or this Divine beauty, we all carry it within us, and I think it’s also important to remember that. And then, no matter how we imagine this Divinity, it’s within us,” Mr. Lambiel said.
