Shen Yun Impresses Dallas Audience: Reminder of ‘Who We Really Are’

March 2, 2023

Shen Yun returned to Dallas, Texas, with five performances from Feb. 24 to 26. Theatergoers said the performance is world-class.

“It was beautiful, loved it,” said Dan Stevens, the vice president and actuary of Bestow Life Insurance. He saw Shen Yun for the first time: “I couldn’t believed the costume, it’s just outstanding. And beautiful choreography as well, really enjoyed it.”

“They’re all very beautiful and the costumes are amazing. So it’s just such a spectacle,” said Ron Whitson, the vice president of Global Sales Engineering Services at Seismic.

“I was really impressed by everything, the production quality is phenomenal. The oration, the orchestra, everything was just absolutely world-class,” said Michael Smith, the chief operating officer of Xelliss.

“Magnificent, just absolutely beautiful,” said former Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-Texas). He said Shen Yun took him through a journey of ancient Chinese culture. “It’s wonderful, we have a chance to see what people saw 5,000 years ago, and the colors and the beauty of movement just really is a celebration of the human form itself.”

“I like how it represents the people of China, the history of China, especially before communism,” said Wayne Nugent, the owner of WorldVentures.

Many said they appreciate the universal values that Shen Yun conveys and added that the performance is important to the world today.

“The traditional values of family and loyalty and truthfulness and honesty in business. Those are all incredibly important. And I think that we need to continue to teach them. We need to continue to talk about them, because without holding on to them, we’re not going to have a world that’s worth moving forward into,” Mr. Smith said.

“I learned that it was a culture full of faith and important values that I share, values about truth and compassion, forbearance, all of these really important principles that really hold our societies together. It was very important,” Mr. Stevens said.

“I feel like our world is losing that. There are so many forces of darkness and evil that we need to return to these principles of faith. This is what we need, and so shows like this remind us of that and remind us of who we really are,” he added.

“There is still good, and there still is evil. And if you don’t recognize that, you could get sucked into being part of the evil,” said Mr. Gohmert.

“There is a divine power behind it all. And it’s important to recognize that, as the founders of the United States pointed out in the Declaration of Independence, We have a creator, we didn’t just happen to come about,” Mr. Gohmert added.

“Shen Yun has done a great job of not only showing the culture and the history of the culture, but also above that, preceding dance and preceding politics, is the Divine and really exploring that divine nature, that spiritual nature, hinting at heaven,” Mr. Nugent said.

“Right now, I think this production is probably more important than ever. And I didn’t know that coming in, before tonight, but that’s what I’m leaving with,” he added.

Shen Yun will be back in Texas this April for two performances in McAllen.
