Shipping Rates at Rock Bottom: Freight Watcher

During the worst pandemic disruptions, shippers had to pay as much as $20,000 to ship a container from China to the United States. But now, those rates have dropped to around $1,200.

It’s bad news for big carriers like Maersk, which raked in record profits last year, but it could be good news for consumers, since high shipping costs contributed to the high inflation.
