Shocking ‘Shoot a School Kid’ Billboard Appears in Las Vegas

A shocking billboard has appeared near the Las Vegas Strip, with the words “Shoot A School Kid Only $29.”

The disturbing message was spotted on Interstate 15 near Spring Mountain Road, in Las Vegas, in the early morning of Thursday, Mar. 1, KTNV reported.

An activist group called INDECLINE has reportedly claimed responsibility for vandalizing the sign on Wednesday night.

According to their website, the group is made up of graffiti writers, filmmakers, photographers and “full-time rebels and activists.” They point out that they are “NOT an anarchist group” but seek to highlight “social, ecological, and economical injustices.”

A video that shows masked individuals applying the words “school kid” to the billboard was posted on Facebook.

At the time of its defacing, the billboard was being used by Battlefield Vegas, a Las Vegas shooting range.

The sign was also modified by the addition of the words “DEFEND LIVES REFORM LAWS.”

According to KTNV, members of the INDECLINE group say they did it because of “America’s longstanding obsession with gun culture.”

Through the act, they are  calling for a “legislative resolution that aims to protect citizens and reform inadequate gun laws that are currently placing value on assault weapons over that of human life.”

In a statement on the group’s Instagram page, a statement reads “INDECLINE isn’t anti-gun,” and that through this action they are “not calling for the complete eradication of weapons,” but that there “needs to be reform.”

This isn’t the first time that INDECLINE has vandalized a billboard or carried out a provocative protest campaign.

In September 2017, members of the group admitted to hanging Ku Klux Klan puppets from a tree in a park in Richmond, Virginia, according to this NBC12 report, prompting its closure for several hours to investigate.

At the time, Jim Nolan, the Press Secretary for Mayor Stoney said, “there are many ways to express a point of view. As a city we don’t condone breaking the law to do so.”

INDECLINE members later posted a video showing masked individuals apparently associated with the group carrying out the act.

INDECLINE was also behind the defacement of McDonald’s billboards, to which the word “E-coli” was applied in a way that suggested dangerous ingredients were used in the corporation’s food products.

In addition, the group vandalized a billboard that was promoting a fight between Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Conor McGregor.

They also reportedly hung mannequins in suits on billboards with the caption “Dying For Work.”

The message on the billboard in Las Vegas was reportedly covered up by 9 a.m. on Thursday.

An investigation into the incident has been launched.
