The Secret Service is responding to a report of a person who allegedly shot themselves near the north fence line of the White House, according to the agency’s Twitter account.

The victim is a male and medical personnel is responding to the scene, Secret Service said. There is no word yet on the man’s condition. No other injuries were reported.
Traffic near the location is impacted, according to the Secret Service.
The White House was on a brief lockdown according to reporters on site.
“Code Red at 1600 Penn. We are on lockdown at the White House. Reports of shots fired,” Emerald Robinson with OANN wrote on Twitter. “Our cameraman says he heard two shots. Waiting to find out more.”
“We’re sheltering in place at the White House briefing room,” NBC’s Geoff Bennett tweeted. “A report of ‘shots fired’ near North Lawn, per a U.S. Secret Service agent. Trying to learn more.”

Less than two weeks ago, a person driving a passenger car struck a security barrier near the White House.
The car did not breach the barrier. The female driver was taken into custody by Secret Service officers.
“No law enforcement personnel were injured during the incident,” the Secret Service wrote on Twitter.
No shots were fired during the incident, despite some reports indicating so.
